What is a sealed trade call? Timestamped proof, explained
A sealed trade call is a trade idea locked the moment it’s written: timestamped, fingerprinted with SHA-256, and impossible to edit, back-date or delete. It answers the one question every trading claim dodges: did they really say it before it happened?
The problem it solves
Anyone can post “called it” after a stock jumps. Messages get deleted, tweets get edited, and screenshots get cropped. Without proof of timing, a trader’s hit rate is whatever they say it is.
How sealing works
- The call is written: the instrument, the idea, and optionally a price target and a time it opens.
- It’s fingerprinted: its exact contents are run through SHA-256, which produces a 64-character code. Change one comma and the code is completely different.
- It’s locked: from that moment nobody can change it, not the trader and not the platform. The fingerprint and the time it was sealed are public.
- It opens: when its timer runs out, the call appears to everyone, word for word as it was sealed.
How to check one yourself
Once a call opens, copy its sealed record (the exact text that was fingerprinted) and run it through any SHA-256 tool. If the result matches the fingerprint published when the call was sealed, the call is exactly what the trader wrote at that moment. On Stock Locker the fingerprint icon on each opened call gives you the record and the steps. The full method.
Why timers matter
A sealed call with a timer lets a trader be paid for being early without hiding anything for good. Paying members read the call as soon as it’s sealed; everyone else reads the same words once the timer runs out. Paying buys timing, never different content, and the whole record ends up public.
What sealing doesn’t prove
A sealed call proves what was said and when, not that the trader acted on it. That’s why it works best next to a record read from the trader’s real account, which shows the trades they actually made. How to check if a trader is legit.
Frequently asked questions
What is a sealed trade call?
A trade idea recorded the moment it's made, with a timestamp and a cryptographic fingerprint of its exact contents, then locked so nobody can change or delete it. It proves what a trader said, and when, before the outcome was known.
How does a SHA-256 fingerprint prove a call wasn't changed?
SHA-256 turns any text into a fixed 64-character code. Change a single character and the code changes completely. The code is published when the call is sealed; when the call opens, anyone can hash the revealed text and check it matches.
Can a sealed call be deleted if it goes badly?
Not on Stock Locker. A sealed call stays on the trader's profile for good, and its timer can be shortened but never extended.
Who can read a sealed call before it opens?
On Stock Locker: the trader, their paying members and Stock Locker's reviewers. Everyone else sees that a call exists and when it opens, then reads it word for word once the timer runs out.
